The seven

The Seven is a mystery thriller set in the high-end art world in Paris in 1999 and in 1930s Shanghai.  A jaded British Art detective and a grieving French gallerist have until the turn of the millennium to reunite twelve Ming dynasty porcelain plates, the key to a Shanghai gangster's missing treasure.

But others are also on the trail and they must solve the mystery of how the plates fit together, and unlock dark family secrets while under pursuit from others who will stop at nothing to get there first.

  • A man and woman standing close together outdoors with the Eiffel Tower in the background during evening.

  • A street vendor selling decorative ceramic plates with intricate patterns in a busy marketplace. The vendor, dressed in a suit and hat, stands behind a display case showcasing the plates. Several other people are visible in the background on a busy street with old buildings and signage.

  • A busy city street with pedestrians, cars, and buses, outside a café named 'Café du Coin' with outdoor seating and a red awning, likely in Paris.

  • A black and white historical photograph showing a group of men in early 20th-century fashion standing around a vintage car on a busy city street with buildings, signs in Chinese, and trolley tracks.

  • The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, with cars and pedestrians in the foreground, and a statue of a man on a horse nearby.

  • Four men sitting around a table playing mahjong, one with a pipe, one with a gun, and others holding money, in a vintage setting.

  • People waiting on a subway platform, some reading a map, with a train arriving or departing in the background, and a clock overhead showing the time.

  • A busy street scene in Shanghai in black and white, featuring vintage trams, rickshaws, bicycles, and pedestrians with historic European-style buildings in the background. Signage indicates the Cathay Casino and Chinese characters are visible.
